Citizens of La Pointe:
The Town Plan Commission, the NEW Town Plan Commission, is working on a total
Zoning Ordinance Revision. This revision will be ready during Mike Starck's
current term and will be presented to the county zoning board and county board
before April 2010.
THIS IS THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT REASON MIKE STARCK SHOULD NOT BE IN OFFICE FOR
THE REST OF HIS TERM.
He has established his incompetence in zoning's intent and procedure. He has
shown that HE DOES NOT CARE IF TOWN AND COUNTY ZONING ARE COMPLETELY AT ODDS
WITH EACH OTHER. Who suffers when the Town Zoning Ordinance and the County
Zoning Ordinance are at odds with each other? YOU DO - THE PROPERTY OWNER.
This election is the only way to prevent this farce of a zoning debacle from
happening again. Relieving Mike of his position is not punishment for acts that
have occurred, although it would be grand if government officials would be held
accountable once in awhile.
The TB has asked the TPC to have their work completed by Jan 1, 2010. I don't
feel at all good about having people with a long history of zoning experience
like Ted Pallas and Charles Brummer work on this Ordinance only to hand it over
to.... MIKE STARK???
The
Town's attorney not only said the language of the text changes (grandfathered
lots and CUPs) was so bad it is unenforceable, he also said he had significant
misgivings in the procedure. How many times has Mike been told ON RECORD
and DURING THE COUNTY ZONING MEETING WHEN HE APPROVED THE TEXT CHANGES that
correct procedure had NOT been followed???
How many times had he been told ON THE RECORD before it even got to the County?
What did he do??
He lobbied them through then attempted to have the ZA fired for insubordination.
Why did he recommend that the County Board not consider the petition that was
submitted by citizens of La Pointe?
He attempted to secretly make zoning and health complaints against those who
opposed him politically after he was voted out of office, but his attempts
failed and the complaints were found to be without merit.
Is Mike Stark going to stand up and offer to pay the expenses he has incurred
for the Town and County like Tom Nelson has?
Just
posting the text changes in the Ashland Daily Press - the ones that are under a
moratorium now - which cost the Town taxpayers more than this election. That's
not to mention the cost for publishing and posting public hearings, paying the
seven Commissioners to come up with an illegal ordinance against the will of the
people. We have paid tens of thousands of dollars for crappy law --
unenforceable, illegal, illogical, and callous law.
My
right to VOTE MIKE STARCK OUT OF OFFICE is more valuable to me than anything
right now. It's the only thing that will protect my property rights and get some
zoning decisions through that actually make sense.
Starck is quoted as saying that half the people who signed the petition to
remove him from the county board didn't know what they were signing. This
implies that we are all a bunch of airheads who will sign whatever is put in
front of us without reading or understanding it first. I knew exactly what I was
signing. Lets show him that we ALL DID.
Respectfully,
Diane
Marie
